About

Amanda is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner whose path into mental health care is rooted in both professional experience and deeply personal insight. She completed her graduate training at Frontier Nursing University, where a formative practicum at Horizons Mental Health Center left a lasting impression. Returning to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center now feels, in many ways, like coming home. She is excited to step into this new role, drawing on her background in inpatient psychiatric nursing and her belief in the power of collaboration and shared learning.

Before becoming a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2023, Amanda spent 18 years as a nurse across a wide range of settings, including psychiatric care, emergency and operating rooms, acute care, wound care, and case management. Her commitment to mental health was shaped profoundly in 2019 when her youngest son experienced a sudden mental health crisis. Navigating the challenges of finding the right provider for him and witnessing the life-changing impact of compassionate, skilled care clarified her calling to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. With a family history touched by mental illness, she brings a deep, personal understanding to the patients and families she serves.

Amanda has been married for 20 years and is the proud mother of two adults and one teenager. Outside of work, she enjoys cheering at her son’s sporting events,
