Nicole Eitzen – LCMFT, LAC
Nicole is the Director of Same Day Access at Horizons Mental Health Center. She received her Bachelor’s in Family and Human Services from John Brown University and went on to be a CPST then TCM/WAF at South Central Mental Health Center. During her time working in community services she realized she wanted to learn more about therapeutic interventions and how to utilize those interventions. To assist her with this she attended Friends University where she received her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Currently, Nicole is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and has her addictions counselor license. She enjoys working with teenage girls, individuals, couples and families through pivotal times in their lives. Nicole is a part of the Leadership Team at Horizons Mental Health Center where she collaborates in implementing policies and providing five star customer service.
Troy Bielser – LMFT
Troy is a graduate of Friends University and holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is licensed by the State of Kansas as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Troy currently works as an outpatient therapist in the Same Day Access Department where he completes intakes with new clients and their families. Troy also assesses clients during crisis situations in his position with Same Day Access. Troy enjoys working with all people including individual clients, couples, and family systems. He strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment whereby clients and families can begin their process of growth and change.
Alyssa Carter – LMFT
Alyssa holds a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University. She has worked with individuals, families, and couples. Some of her methods include play therapy and sandtray training, as well as couples communication. Alyssa also utilizes mindfulness and body awareness as needed in the therapy room. Alyssa has worked with anxiety, grief, depression, divorce, parenting issues, premarital issues, spiritual issues, and trauma. Among other things, she has worked with those living with anxiety, grief, depression, divorce, parenting issues, premarital issues, spiritual issues and trauma.

Alyssa Davidson- LMSW
Alyssa is a graduate of Wichita State University School of Social Work Masters program. As a student, she focused primarily on the effects of trauma. Alyssa has prior experience as a crisis responder which allows her to adapt to a variety of situations. Alyssa has experience working with victims of sexual and domestic violence. She is happy to be a part of the Horizons family since 2014 and enjoys volunteering with local non-profits.
Eva Gadberry – LSCSW
Eva graduated with her Bachelor of Psychology degree from Kansas Wesleyan before completing her Masters in Social Work at Wichita State University. She is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kansas. Eva currently works as a therapist in the Same Day Access Department, completing the intake process with new clients, assessing clients for crisis treatment and hospitalization and holds a small caseload for individuals with Medicare. She has experience working in the child welfare system, and with the prison population, as well as crisis stabilization. She is client centered with her approach and uses Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral theories to emphasize client well-being. She enjoys working with all populations, especially older adults and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Audra Goldsmith – LMLP, LMAC
Audra is the supervisor of the behavioral health program at the Reno County Correctional Facility. Audra completed her Bachelors in Psychology at Wichita State University and went on to obtain a Master of Science at Emporia State University. She holds a license as a Masters Level Psychologist (LMLP) and a Masters Addiction Counselor (LMAC), in the state of Kansas. She currently works as the Clinical Manager in the Same Day Access Department, serving as Team Lead, completing the intake process with new clients and assessing clients for crisis treatment and hospitalization. She also is trained and completes psychological testing predominantly for teens and adolescents, however her internship involved training in neuropsychological testing. The population she prefers working with includes offenders, clients with severe and persistent mental illness and those in crisis.
Ashley Lawson – LMLP
Ashley is the Manager of the Same Day Access services at Horizons Mental Health Center. Ashley graduated from Emporia State University in Emporia KS, with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Minor is Sociology. During her time at Emporia State University, she was a member of the Psi Chi International Honors Society in Psychology. During her clinical internship, she provided services to the Severe and Persistent Mentally Ill population.
After graduating, Ashley practiced therapy in southern Colorado through a community mental health center. At that time, she worked as a generalist, providing services to all age ranges and diagnoses. Ashley also provided support and services in crisis, intake, psycho-education group and triage. During this time, she received training in Solution Focused Therapy and trained with The Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Philadelphia, PA. Ashley then furthered her experience by completing a course with the University of Massachusetts in Integration after which, she helped start a successful integration program with the local hospital system.
Ashley is a Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist in the state of Kansas. Ashley previously worked on the Horizons’ Outpatient Therapy team, but now is working in the Same Day Access Department. Currently she provides intake and crisis services to Reno, Barber, Pratt, Kingman and Harper counties. Ashley also specializes in psychological testing, specifically ADHD, IQ, Mood and Anxiety testing.
Melissa Valentine – LMSW
Melissa received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work form Wichita State University and went on to work as an adult case manager here at Horizons. She then completed her Master’s degree at KU in 2016 and is now a Licensed Masters Social Worker as well as a Licensed Masters Addictions Counselor Melissa completed her master level practicum in both the jail and Same Day Access here at Horizons. She enjoys working in the correctional setting as well as substance use services. Currently she is working in Same Day Access as a crisis therapist and intake worker.
