Dale Anderson – LP, LCAC
Dale has a variety of experience due to past positions held. He has worked in psychiatric hospitals/units for 35+ years. Dale was a therapist at the masters level for 2 years before going back to school for his doctorate degree. He has performed psychological evaluations on individuals from 9 months to 98 years old along with Theraplay (play therapy), Gestalt, Family Systems, Psychodynamic, CBT, and Interpersonal psychotherapy. He began working with substance abusers in 1978 at inpatient units, VA residential programs, and outpatient programs. He currently facilitates the co-occurring disorders group at HMHC. His testing experience has also been varied; he started doing Neuropsychological testing during an internship and has been working mostly with the elderly and those with brain injuries since then. Dale runs a group for MR/DD men to improve their communication and social skills.
Dale’s favorite type of therapy is spiritually based counseling. His training has been in the integration of psychology and theology and this allows him to practice evidence based therapy when the client is asking for it.
