“Shop “till you drop” brought on a whole new meaning – SHOP: Support Hospice On Purpose – to our Virtual Festival of Remembrance. Covid-19 forced Hospice & HomeCare of Reno County to step out of the box and approach our annual fundraiser, the Festival of Remembrance an entirely different way. Going virtual with 16 BIG ticket items made for a new experience in raising funds. The raffle items were raffled off with winners being drawn during a Facebook Live Event Friday, August 28th.
The giving did not stop with the raffle item donations. Individuals had the opportunity to participate in the Virtual Festival of Remembrance by donating to the FUND-A-NEED Campaign during the Facebook Live Event. This year, donations will help build a Team Center at the Hospice House to better serve our patients, increase staffing efficiencies and adhere to social distancing. Mert Sellers kicked off the giving with a $5,000 donation and pledged to donate $5,000 more in a match. Thanks to many generous donations, we met our $25,000 goal, as shown by Darla Wilson, VP Chief Administration Officer. The Virtual Festival of Remembrance was deemed a huge success by all who were involved! A special thanks to our sponsors, Advisory Board members, staff and all those who were so generous and supportive of this new way of fundraising, we are so grateful!
