Reno County remains in Phase 2 and is currently vaccinating ages 65 and over and those from Phase 1 who have not yet received the vaccine. The vaccination clinic on Friday, January 29 administered 690 doses.
Another clinic is scheduled for this Friday, February 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. The Health Department hopes to administer 800 doses of the Moderna vaccine. They are currently working to identify the next vaccination group and will soon begin calling to schedule appointments. Nearly 6,000 individuals have pre-registered for Phase 2a as of Tuesday morning. If you have already pre-registered for the vaccine, there is no need to register again. Please note the vaccination site will NOT be accepting walk-ins. Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is adjusting its masking policy effective February 15, 2023 to no longer require visitors and staff to wear masks when entering the facility. The decision comes as COVID-19 hospitalizations and cases continue to trend downward in Reno County.
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center today announced it will adjust staffing levels and reduce workforce as a direct result of the healthcare landscape being profoundly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing supply costs, lower health insurance reimbursement rates and decreased patient volumes compared to pre-pandemic days.
Ken Johnson, the president and chief executive officer of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System has resigned after seven years in the role. Prior to serving as the CEO, Johnson served as the chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
