Bobbie Cooprider

LSCSW

Bobbie Cooprider is the Child Advocacy Center Outpatient Therapist. She is currently EMDR trained, a trained forensic interviewer and is a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is working toward certification in Parent Child Interaction Therapy. Bobbie is a graduate of Newman University in Wichita, KS with a Master of Social Work degree. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Psychology from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. Bobbie is a Licensed Specialist clinical Social Worker in the state of Kansas as well as a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society and the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society.

During her clinical practicum, she participated in both individual and group therapies, substance use in tandem with workforce/family reintegration, and crisis interventions. She has over 20 years of experience working with children, conducting quality improvement in childcare centers and home, and advocacy with children and families.

Jane Holzrichter - Manager

LMSW

Jane Holzrichter has a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kansas and is the Director of the Child Advocacy Center and Prevention Services at Horizons Mental Health Center. She is a Licensed therapist and specialized in trauma. Since 1992, Jane has coordinated the Personal Safety Awareness Program in over 85 school districts and implemented the program in six states. Annually, Jane presents to over 4,000 children and adults in 43 elementary schools in South Central Kansas. She has conducted over 1,800 forensic interviews and received her formal training from American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and Finding Words of West Virginia and Child First. In 2003, she was instrumental in securing over 2.25 million dollars to implement Finding Words of Kansas. Currently, she is serving on the National Children’s Alliance Center as a Site Reviewer accrediting CAC’s in the country and the Behavioral Science Regulatory Board’s Advisory Council. Jane brings a wealth of knowledge to both mental health and child maltreatment issues and is respected in her field through the education, judicial, legal, medical and mental health disciplines.

Melissa Hurley

LMSW

Melissa attended Wichita State University where she received a Masters Degree in Social Work.  She believes in holistic healing that takes into consideration the whole person – physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.  She also believes therapy is an opportunity for the clients to explore their own thoughts and feeling in a safe environment.  Her practice has an emphasis in Trauma and children, but will serve all ages.

Melissa provides services in our Anthony location.

Megan Smyth

B.S.

 

Megan graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies with concentrations in Business and Psychological Studies.  Megan has worked in Community Mental Health since 2009 and is currently the program coordinator for the Child Advocacy Center.  She is a forensic interviewer and also the Family Advocate.  Megan is the facilitator of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in Reno and Harper Counties.  In addition, Megan provides Personal Safety Awareness Training and is a trainer for Mental Health First Aid (Youth and Teen).

Megan provides services in our Hutchinson and Anthony locations.
