Give Your Child the Best Start

As an expectant parent you want only the best for your child. At Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, we offer advanced medical services and technologies to keep you and your child safe, all in a warm, family-focused environment.

Giving birth to a child is one of the most rewarding experiences in life. We want this moment to be special and memorable, so we provide highly trained physicians and nurses who create a personalized experience for every family we serve.

Mother and Baby

Whether your pregnancy is routine or high-risk, you’ll find a team of dedicated professionals monitoring you and your baby’s well-being every step of the way. We’ll walk with you from the first prenatal care visit through labor and delivery.

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center’s private labor and birthing rooms offer a warm environment with skilled and helpful care providers–and technology readily available to support your birthing experience. Our birthing center is designed to make you feel at home, with private baths, comfortable furniture and a sleep sofa for an overnight guest.

If you have a scheduled or emergency cesarean section, we’re equipped with designated labor and delivery operating rooms. In most cases, your spouse or significant other will be able to accompany you through the procedure.

Getting to Know Your Baby

After your recovery, you and your new baby will move to a maternity room. We practice mother baby time because research indicates that keeping a baby with its mother is better for both as they get to know each other. This means you and your baby will remain in the same room throughout your stay.

All newborn care–including bathing and checking vital signs–takes place in your room, and family members are encouraged to participate. Your significant other is welcomed to stay overnight and assist you with caring for your new baby. During this time, your patient care team will support you and your baby as you get to know each other and recover.

Our expert nursing staff members receive training and certification in specific lifesaving procedures, so you can count on them to know your baby’s body and how to respond quickly to unexpected or challenging situations.

Lactation Support

The team of obstetric physicians and nurses at The Birthing Center at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center will give you and your child attentive, expert care for a healthy start. Our staff includes an International Breastfeeding Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to help mothers who are able to breastfeed.
