Rex is an at-large representative for the medical staff. He was raised in Great Bend and left to attend Kansas State, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology before attending University of Kansas to receive his M.D. Dr. Degner cheers on both schools, but when pressed, he admits he’d wear purple over blue. After completing his pathology residency, he moved home to Great Bend in 1990 where he practiced for 10 years. In 2000, he joined Reno Pathology Associates in Hutchinson. Dr. Degner and his wife Karla have 4 children. When away from work, Dr. Degner enjoys hunting, fishing and golfing.
